So part of our little adventure here is my self-experimentation with things to help slow down the aging process. I take a few supps, which I’ll go into in more detail in another post.
But a more significant step is stuff I’ve been doing with a medical doctor who built a whole wellness clinic for those of us no longer on the front nine. I was in decent shape when I first went there, but based on a review of my bloodwork, they suggested a few things to raise my Testosterone (T) and IGF-1 levels. Both of these, as you are probably aware, begin to decline as you age, especially as you hit the 40 year mark.
I wasn’t interested in injecting anything at the time, so I started with two ingestible medications. I’ve been taking them for a while now, but the first few times I totally panicked. I always do that when I put new stuff in my body. Anyway, these items have doubled and at times tripled my free T numbers, and with those increases I’ve noticed improvements in overall mood and energy levels.
Also, while taking these items, I’ve gone through two phases of lifting – one where I stripped my body fat percentage down to 9%, and a second where I added calories and heavy compound moves in order to add 30 lean pounds to my frame.
As mentioned in earlier posts, I had dinged myself up a bit from working out hard for a long time without a break. At my age, the body just doesn’t recover like it used to, regardless of how healthy you are. The doctor recommended a solution. I added it to my repertoire and I’ve been taking it for about three weeks now.
Below is a picture of my back during pull-ups at about two weeks. Let’s use it as a point of reference for future pics I will take to see how I’ve progressed.
Well for now, hasta luego and stay en fuego. Cocktail of the day is the Martini. Originally conceived as a gin drink, it has gained prominence with vodka as a base, as well. Gotta say I’m a gin fan, and I like ’em dirty, but you pick your own poison.
